摘　　要：近代以来,在中国知识界对西方文化的认知史上,贺麟是一位"另类"学者。他的西方文化观不仅代表着1930—1940年代中国知识分子在对西方文化认识问题上的重大突破,而且是近代以来中国人西学观发展史上的一个重要节点。他的见解既体现出哲学家的深邃与敏锐,同时也不可避免地受到其哲学思想的拘囿。客观评价贺麟在这一问题上的得与失,对于我们当下认识西方文化具有重要的启迪意义。He Lin is an＂alternative＂scholar in modern Chinese intellectuals＇ cognitive history of Western culture. His view represents not only a major breakthrough in the understanding of western culture by Chinese intellectuals of 1930 s and 1940 s,but also an important milestone in modern Chinese cognitive history of Western culture. As a great philosopher,his unique understanding of western culture is keen and deep,but it is also inevitably confined by his philosophical thinking. An objective assessment of He Lin＇s view on this issue is of great significance for today＇s understanding of Western culture by Chinese people.
