西方游历小说人物的“角色”地位与功能简论

摘　　要：在西方小说史上,人物在游历小说发展的不同阶段所扮演的"角色"地位并不相同,先后经历了一个由边缘到中心,由从属到主导,再逐渐消解淡化的过程;人物具有的功能和作用与此相关,主要体现在结构功能、叙事和观察展示功能、承载表现意识形态功能几个方面。探索西方游历小说人物的"角色"地位与功能,不仅可以窥探作家在艺术表现方面的才华,更为重要的是通过小说的意识形态功能来表现人性与世界的多样性和复杂性。In the history of western novel, the characters and the roles they play in the literary works differ greatly in different phases of the development of traveling novels. To be exact, those characters experience a whole complex process from the margin to the center of the story, from the subordinate position to the dominant position, and then to the position of being dissolved and ignored gradually. Accordingly, the roles they played in the novels are also different in the aspects of their structural function, narrative function and the function of carrying and representing ideology. Through studying the status and function of the characters and their roles, we can not only understand the authors＇ talents in artistic expression, but more importantly, we can learn the complexity and diversity of humanity and the world by means of t ideological function of the novels.
