摘　　要：从教育管理学的学科视角分析中国近代教育家校长的办学实践,可以得出一些有益的结论:近代教育家校长之所以办学成功,与其在管理过程中的决策、沟通、领导等行为特征和动机特征密切相关,而这些特征的产生,又是以教育家校长的特质为基础,与当时特殊的学校情境相关联。由此给当代校长带来的启示是:丰富学校效能指标,寻找管理行为差距,涵养校长四性品质,创造有利学校情境。Fromthe perspective of educational administration, this paper analyzes on the school-running practice of principalsin modern China.The reasons why the principalsare successful lie in the effective features of decision, communication, leadership and motivation in the process of school management. Related to these are principal characteristics and school situational factors. It gives us some edifications as the following： it is important to rich school effectiveness evaluation;look for the gaps in management behavior;to improve the qualities of the presidentin four aspects;to create a favorable situation of the school.
