摘　　要：基于交际翻译的原则,构建小型语料库,实证性地揭示国外院系简介的表达偏好,并选取国内院系英文简介对比评析,探讨恰当的院系简介翻译策略,为英译实践与翻译教学提供参考意见和方向。Based on the communicative translation principle ,the paper constructs a small corpus to reveal the language expression preference shown in introductions to departments in famous American universities . Moreover ,translation of the Chinese department introductions is compared and analyzed to summarize the appropriate strategy in translating departments＇introductions ,thus providing suggestions on C‐E transla‐tion practice and teaching .
