摘 要:通过比较分析周瘦鹃和刘半农各自译本中The Pride of the Village的少女形象,发现两份译作有着迥然不同的翻译策略和风格,周译对原文做大幅度增删改,把原作中的异域少女变身为中国特色的古典美女,语言华丽煽情,风格哀伤,侧重渲染男女主人公缠绵悱恻的爱情;而刘译则直译为主,很好地保留原文意义,语言清新朴实。根据译者主体性视域的体验认知理论,这些差异源于两位译者迥异的人生经历和文学审美,是译者个体身体学和意识形态身体学两者糅合的结果。This paper firstly makes a comparative exploration of the heroine in The Pride of the Village,translated respectively by Zhou Shoujuan and Liu Bannong. The study reveals that Zhou Shoujuan's translation managed to transcribe an exotic and pretty maid into a typically ancient Chinese beauty through strategies of adding,deleting and transforming. Zhou's translation,with its flowery rhetoric,also successfully makes a mourning setting for the love between the characters. In contrast,Liu Bannong's version is rather faithful to the source text through literal translation with natural,colloquial and simple language. The differences between the two works arise from the distinctive life experiences and literary views of the two translators. Within the framework of translator's subjectivity theory,the paper lastly explains that both idiosomatics of translation and ideosomatics of translation contribute to the distinction.
