Objective To investigate the eye-hand coordination( EHC) in multiple-object tracking( MOT)task,an adapted MOT task was used in the experiment and the duration of attentional tracking served as the dependent variable. Methods Forty-three participants were asked to use the mouse to control a red square( target) and avoid colliding with blue squares( distractors) or the dark-gray boundary. The tracking stopped upon the collision with blue squares or the boundary. The duration of the tracking was collected as the dependent variable to measure the performance of EHC. Results 3( number of distractors: 3,4,5) × 3( speed:high, medium, slow) within-subject ANOVA demonstrated the significant main effect of number and speed of distractors. The interaction effect was also significant. When the number of distractors increased or the movement accelerated, the duration decreased. Conclusion The performance of EHC is influenced by the number and the speed of distractors. The increase in the speed or the number of distractors leads to a linear decrease of the tracking duration.
