话“洪荒之力”之英译

摘　　要：在里约奥运仰泳半决赛后,中国游泳选手傅园慧接受采访时使用了"洪荒之力"一词,成了观众的兴奋点,也激起了翻译爱好者的浓厚兴趣。本文总结中外媒体对"洪荒之力"的英译,追溯"洪荒之力"的话语语境,探索"洪荒之力"的最佳英译。文章对汉语网络流行语的英译有一定参考价值。When being interviewed,Fu Yuanhui,a candidate qualified for the 100-meter backstroke final in her semifinal,claimed that she had exerted her extreme effort by humorous way of saying ＂Honghuang zhili＂. Since then,her popularity has popped up for the term Honghuang zhili,which has appealed to the general public. The way of translating the term has aroused the great interest among those who are interested in translation. This paper examines a variety of interpretations of the term Honghuang zhili employed in the East and Western media and attempts to come up with an appropriate version that best matches the meaning and the context. The study is noteworthy as far as is concerned the construction of the paradigm of translating Chinese network buzzwords into English in a proper manner.
