摘　　要：葛浩文的高质量译作为莫言获得诺贝尔文学奖提供了重要保证。葛浩文不仅是莫言作品英语版的御用译者,而且"翻译了全中国"。文章系统梳理了葛浩文翻译生涯的五个阶段及各阶段的特征。文章最后指出,葛浩文的成功翻译实践为我们提供了两方面的启发:译者模式、知识储备。Howard Goldblatt＇ s good translations contribute a lot to Mo Yan＇ s Nobel prize. Mr. Goldblatt not only works as the sole English translator of Mo Yan＇ s works, but also translates works by other Chinese authors across the whole country. The present paper streamlines the five periods in Howard＇ s translating career and analyzes the characteristics of these stages. Finally, it points out that Howard Goldblatt ＇ s success in translation illuminates us in two ways ： the mode of translators ＇ cooperation and the prerequisites of a translator.
