摘　　要：外汉音译与意义密切相关,表现在:外汉音译本质上是利用假借译音代义,译音汉字选择上无法避开汉字的字面意义,译音汉字认知上遵循汉语使用者的"集体无意识"和外汉音译词使用上的有意利用译音汉字的字面意义等。F - C transliteration （Transliteration from a foreign language into Chinese ） is closely related with meaning, which is illustrated by the following facts ： F - C transliteration being in nature for the purpose of inter - lingual shift of meaning; the literal meaning of the Chinese character chosen for transliteration not to be ig- nored in the formation of the transliterated words; the understanding of the character being subject to the so - called ＂collective subconsciousness＂ of Chinese speakers; and the literal meaning of the character being always deliberately taken advantaged of in the use of the transliterated words.
