中渡城隍“巡街”的人群与社会——兼论祭祀圈理论的解释力

摘　　要：祭祀圈理论是人类学区域社会研究的重要理论范式,受到学界的广泛重视。中渡作为西南边陲的小镇,每年城隍巡街吸引了周边民众参与其中。一方面,运用历史资料和传说,以国家与社会为视角,说明帝国为了教化边疆把城隍带入中渡,而中渡由于其移民社会的特质,接纳并广泛祭祀城隍。另一方面,结合民族志,当下中渡民众由于不同的诉求对城隍有不同的理解,在地方社会呈现出不一样的意义图式。在此基础上,进而说明祭祀圈理论不仅要关注"地"对"人"的影响,也要研究"人"对"地"的作用,才会具有更强的解释力。The theory of ritual ring is an important theoretical paradigm and focus in the anthropological study of local societies. Zhong- du is a small town in the borderland of southwest China, and its annual ritual of Inspecting the Territory by Town God always attracts the neighboring people. From the social and national perspectives and with an analysis of historical and legendary data, this paper points out that the Imperial Court introduced Town God to this town to cultivate the borderers while the local people composed of immi- grants willingly accepted and offered sacrifices to Town God. The ethnological records reveal that nowadays the Zhongdu people have different understandings of Town God due to their different demands and with different kinds of significance in the local societies. The paper concludes that the theory of ritual ring should not only pay attention to the impacts of the local society on the local people but also vice versa if this theory is expects to work well.
