摘　　要：本文根据美国跨境教育研究小组和英国无边界高等教育观察组织的统计数据,分析研究了美国大学海外分校在全球的扩张历史和战略,试图揭示和解释在不同的历史时期和地区,美国大学海外分校呈现的不同兴趣倾向和扩张重点,从中可以清晰地看到,美国大学海外分校的建立不可避免地裹挟着美国国家的战略部署意图和意识形态的输出,但全球竞争、经济利益和国家安全仍然是美国大学建立海外分校的最直接驱动力。According to the statistical data from the Cross-Border Education Research Team and the Observatory on Borderless Higher Education, this paper analyzes the history and the strategy of the global expansion of the international branch campuses established by American higher education institutions, and reveals and explains that American universities have being showing the distinct interest tendency different historical periods and regions. Based on the above analysis, it is obvious that the branch campuses would inevitably carry the strategic intent and ideological output of U.S. factors that prompt American universities to set up branch campuses abroad are global and expansion focus in export of international However, the essential competition, economic interests and national security, which could provide reference for the import of foreign educational resources in China and the export of China＇s higher education to the world.
