摘　　要：时间是福克纳小说艺术的重要构成。文章以空间叙事理论为基础,分析福克纳的代表作《八月之光》的时间艺术,认为福克纳将小说的叙事时间碎片化与个人化,让时间内化为人物的心理意识结构与性格特征,使之成为了美国南方文化和历史的载体,主题上烘托了南方哥特式文化中的个人困境,同时也使得小说具有了沉重的历史观感。Time plays an important part in Faulkner＇s novels. By employing the theory of spatial narration, this paper aims at a comprehensive analysis of his time manipulation in Light in August. It is believed that Faulkner intentionally fragments and personalizes the narrative time of the fiction, and internalizes it as a mirror to characters＇ psychological structure and personal traits, so that time becomes a carrier of Southern American culture and history, reflects personal dilemmas in Southern Gothic culture and at the meantime endows with the fiction a grave historical perception.
