华兹生英译《史记》之翻译规范查究

摘　　要：翻译是受到规范制约的社会文化活动,译文是目的语文化的产物。华兹生《史记》英译本体现了二十世纪五六十年代美国社会文化对译者行为的种种制约,包括对文本选择、译文体例、翻译策略、翻译方法、遣词造句等的制约,研究发现在目的语中受欢迎的译本当数符合目的语读者阅读模式和期待视野的文本。Translating is a social activity and influenced by the cultural norms in the target language context. Based on Toury＇s norm theory,a systematically descriptive study of Records of the Grand Historian of China translated by Watson Burton is made.Preliminary norm,initial norm and operational norm are presented respectively. Then translation norms reflected in Records of the Grand Historian of China are interpreted one by one,which shows that a successful translated text is closely related to the historic context,the mainstream ideology,and poetics,readers＇ expectation and the cultural norms in the target culture.
