摘　　要：科学与神性是诗人R.S.托马斯诗歌关注的主题。在诗人笔下,科学与神性之间的关系是悖论的。他一方面批判以工业文明和重商主义为代表的应用科学给人类带来价值观的颠覆,造成精神冷漠,从而丧失理解神性的能力。另一方面,诗人认为以现代物理学为代表的纯科学探索宇宙的神奇,具有想象性和直觉性,是以艺术的方式认识世界,与神性探索具有共性,从而产生融合。Science and divinity arc themes of focus in R. S. Thomas＇poems. In his works, there are paradox between science and divinity. On the one hand, he criticizes the applied science represented by industrial civilization and commercialism which lead to overturn of values, spiritual indifference and inability to understand divinity. On the other hand, he believes that the pure science represented by modem physics, which explores the magic of universe, is featured in imagination and intuition and artistic understanding of world. For him, such science is similar with divine exploration.
