摘　　要：词汇是人类交际的直接矿源和整个语言教学的奠基石。研究归纳并提升外语词汇教学中隐喻能力的地位,聚焦考察其在基本范畴词、多义词、文化词和语料库方法等教学环节中的核心价值。隐喻能力作为一种与词汇教学息息相关的实际语言运用能力,应成为所有词汇教学理念的中高级目标而被正式列入课程大纲。Vocabulary is the headspring of human communication and the cornerstone of the entire language teaching. This paper summaries and enhances metaphorical competence in foreign language vocabulary instructions while focusing on its essential value in instruction of basic vocabulary, polysemy, cultural terms and corpus methodology. Metaphorical competence, as a category of practical language ability intimately related to vocabulary transmission, ought to be acknowledged as the intermediate and advanced goal of various vocabulary teaching notions and formally implemented into the course syllable.
