摘　　要：以《新世纪汉英大词典》(第二版)为例,探讨了新词收录及英译的现状和关注点,提出了汉英词典中汉语新词收录应遵循必要性、普遍性、长期性的原则,探讨了新造词、旧词新用及外来词的英译及策略。This paper summarizes and analyzes the existing research and trends of the coverage and translation of new words. This paper proposes the norms and standards of coverage and translation of Chinese new words in Chinese-English dictionaries with a case study of the New Century Chinese-English DiCtionary （2nd Edition） . The translation strategies of Chinese new words are also discussed in this paper.
