Character Order Encoding Influences Top-Down Word Processing in Chinese Reading

摘  要:研究采用边界范式通过两项实验考察词内字序编码对预测性效应的影响,结果发现:(1)全程词内字序颠倒和注视中词内字序颠倒都不影响预测性效应,但预视中词内字序颠倒则消除预测性效应,说明预视阶段内词内字序编码影响自上而下词汇加工,却不影响注视阶段内自上而下的词汇加工;(2)预视中词内字序颠倒和注视中词内字序颠倒条件下目标词汇凝视时间都高于全程词内字序颠倒条件,说明整个时程上的词汇加工并不严格依赖于词内字序编码。By using the boundary paradigm, the present study investigated how character word predictability effects. order encoding influences transposed character noword It is found that preview condition eliminated the word predictability effect, suggesting that character order encoding in the preview phrase influenced the top-bottom word processing, and that the condition of transposed character noword in the fixation phrase did not influence predictability effect, showing that character order encoding in the fixation phrase did not influence the top-bottom word processing. We also found that participants fixated on target word re- gion longer in both the preview transposed character noword condition and transposed character noword in the fixation phrase condition than in the transposed character noword condition, suggesting that charac- ter order encoding in these two phrases were not strict for word processing.
