摘  要:自传体小说《古韵》是凌叔华文学创作生涯中后期最重要的作品。这部以英语写成、首先出版于英国的长篇小说受到西方评论界的关注,进而为凌叔华赢得了世界声誉。这一成功实非偶然。《古韵》是作者多年中西文化交往经历的综合记录与最终"成品"。作为一个跨文化旅行的文本,其二十多年的生成过程是一次异域文化视野下特殊的写作实践。仔细考察小说英文原著所呈现出的文化特质,我们可以看到女作家是如何在深刻剖析本土文化传统的基础上,从自身的文化审美取向出发,综合考量西方读者的阅读感受,在创作中不断调整、适应与创新的。由此,凌叔华完成了自身多元文化角色的建构,实现了文学与文化跨语境的成功书写。Ancient Melodies, an autobiographical novel, is the most important work by her in Ling Shuhua's late work. She won world renown after the novel, written in English and first published in the UK, gained critical acclaim in the West, a success not achieved by accident but that is a finished product as a result of the comprehensive record of the author's East-West experience for many years. The genesis of the novel as a cross-cultural travel document over twenty-odd years is a special writing practice in the foreign field of vision. A careful examination of the cultural qualities in the novel in English helps us see how the author keeps adjusting, adapting and creating the new as she starts off from her own cultural aesthetics while combining the experience of the Western readers, based on her profound analysis of traditional native culture, thus completing the construction of her own muhicultural role as well as realizing a successful writing of literature and cross-culture.
