摘  要:本文将认知语言学领域的原型理论与二语习得领域的词汇习得相结合,探讨原型理论对英语二语词汇深度知识习得的启示。文章首先回顾了传统的经典范畴理论到原型范畴理论的历程,对两者做了系统的对比,然后从原型角度剖析了英汉构词的差异,最后提出原型理论给予二语词汇深度知识的习得四个方面的启示。With a combination of the Prototype Theory from cognitive linguistics and vocabulary acquisition in SLA,this paper discusses the implications of the Prototype Theory for the deepening of ESL vocabulary knowledge. The transformation from the Classical Theory of Category to the Prototype Theory is reviewed and a systematic comparison is made between the two. The paper then probes the differences in word formation between English and Chinese and points out that the Prototype theory can benefit the deepening of vocabulary knowledge in four ways.
