摘 要:"优势竞赛论"是许渊冲继"三美论"后提出的另一个重要翻译理论。该理论认为,文学翻译是两种语言和文化间的竞赛,译者在必要时应该发挥译文语言优势,使译文能与原文在艺术和审美层面相媲美甚至超越原文。文章以许渊冲和杨宪益、戴乃迭夫妇的《清明》英译本为研究对象,从意境、音韵美、主题思想等三个层面对"优势竞赛论"进行深入探析,借以指出在古典诗歌的翻译过程中,译者不应拘于原文的形式和内容,而应该发挥主观能动性,让译作和原作展开竞赛,进而向读者最大限度传达原文的艺术魅力。The Rivalry Theory is another important translation theory proposed by Xu Yuanchong after the theory of " Three Aspects of Beauty ". The theory holds that literary translation is primarily about that the rivalry between two languages and two cultures. Therefore,when necessary,the translator should give full play to the advantages of the target language so as to make the translation comparable to the original in artistic and aesthetic aspects and even beyond the original text. Taking the translation versions of Qingming by Xu Yuanchong and Yang Xianyi Gladys Yang as the research subject,the paper makes an in-depth analysis of Rivalry Theory from three perspectives of artistic conception,rhythm and theme. Thus,it is concluded that the translator should not confined himself in the form and content of the original text during translating classical poetry. Instead,the translator should bring the subjective initiative into play,letting the translation version and the original make competition,so as to convey the artistic charm of the original text to the maximum to the reader.
