摘 要:本文以英国国家语料库(BNC)数据为参照,调查我国高级、中上级和中下级三类不同英语水平学习者对英语搭配频率直觉的判断结果及差异。研究发现:1)三类学习者的直觉总体上与BNC数据呈中度相关性;2)三类学习者总体上对极端频率搭配的区分度较高,对相近频率搭配的区分度较低;3)三类学习者对高频搭配的判断较准确,但对低频搭配(尤其是极低频搭配)的判断缺乏准确性。其中,高级学习者对低频搭配的判断略优于中级学习者,两类中级学习者之间不存在差异。结果表明,我国中高级英语水平学习者的搭配能力和国外同类二语学习者相比存在较大差异,需在显性教学和语料库辅助中提高。Based on British National Corpus(BNC), this research explores how Chinese English learners at advanced, high-intermediate and low-intermediate levels compare against each other in their subjective judgments of collocation frequency. The results show that:(1) on the whole, the intuitions of both advanced and intermediate learners correlated moderately with BNC statistical data;(2) all the three types of learners could, in general, accurately differentiate two extreme frequency bands but not the similar frequency bands; and(3) both advanced and intermediate learners appeared accurate in judging high frequency collocations but not low ones(especially very low frequency). With regard to low frequency parings, while advanced learners performed slightly better than their intermediate counterparts in their judgments, no difference was found between high-and low-intermediate learners. Taken together, Chinese English learners are lower in collocation ability than overseas L2 learners and such ability can be facilitated by means of explicit teaching and corpora.
