摘　　要：澳大利亚当代著名女作家伊丽莎白·乔利是独特的。她拥有深厚的文学底蕴与敏锐的创作世界,并且创作技巧非常娴熟。乔利的小说既有现实主义典型人物的刻画和讽刺批判,又富有现代主义错综复杂的意识流和象征手法,更不乏循环结构、"小说套小说"和互文等后现代写作技巧,形成了博采众长、兼收并蓄的艺术特色,推动了澳大利亚小说艺术的发展。Elizabeth Jolley is a unique contemporary Australian woman writer. Her profound literary knowledge and penetrating creative world endow her fictions with adept writing skills. This thesis holds that Jolley＇ s fictions are characterized not only by vivid portrayal of typical characters and ironic criticism of realism, but also the complex stream - of- consciousness and symbols of modernism; furthermore, they also embody such post - modernistic writing techniques as recursive structure, fiction within fiction and intertextuality. Jolley＇ s all - embracing and eclectic artistic characteristics helps towards the development of the art of Australian fiction.
