摘　　要：随着上世纪黑人民权运动的开展,以及近年来黑人在娱乐业的崛起,黑人英语越来越引起人们的普遍关注,同时也十分敏感,备受争议。有关黑人英语起源的研究先后产生过三个学派,即:"语言缺陷派"、"方言派"、"克里奥派"。文章综合分析了这些学派观点,认为黑人英语主要是一种社会方言,但由于社会文化原因,围绕黑人英语起源的争议还会继续下去。With the rise of the Civil Rights Movement and the rise of Afro - Americans in the show business, Black Eng- lish has caught wide attention. In the same time it has also caused lots of controversies. Thus it becomes a sensitive sub- ject. Studies about its origin has led to three hypotheses i.e. ＂the deficiency hypothesis＂, ＂the dialect hypothesis＂ and ＂the Creole hypothesis＂. This paper made a comprehensive study of the above hypotheses and proposed the view that Black English is basically a social dialect.
