语言接触视角下严复译作中的外来词

摘　　要：不同语言的人们在交际中必然产生语言的接触,进而形成各种语言接触现象,外来词就是其中之一。严复译作有大量因语言接触而产生的外来词,其中音译词占大多数,另外,还使用了整体意译、对应意译、仿译、借形等方式来翻译。语言接触会带来语言的干扰,所以,为了在晚清的封闭文化中使译作获得较好的接受效果,严复主动地使用意译外来词的方式传播外来的思想、观念及新事物。这些外来词在之后汉语的使用中出现留用、替换和停用等几种不同情况。The concept of language contact is shaped by the people who come from different language backgrounds and try to communicate in a common language base. One of the most significant consequences of language contact is loanword. loanwords can be widely found in the translation works of Yan Fu's. He applied several translating methods in his works including phonemic loans, semantic loan,graphic loan and loantranslation. In order to minimize the negative effect from language interference, Yan mainly applied the method of semantic loan. This method also gives importance to western culture diffusion within the Chinese feudal society at that period. Meanwhile, all the loan words coined by Yan can be divided into several categories in terms of the vitalities and features of these words.
