摘  要:民国时期是我国现代大学制度的开创期,对其进行历史考察具有重要价值。民国大学的发展经历多次制度变迁,从清末民初的文化反省到大学制度的初建,从教授治校到校长治校,有识之士运用法治与道德的双重力量,倡导教育独立,反对过多的政府干预,支持教授治学与学生自治,创设了大师辈出、英才涌现的校园环境。回望民国大学的生态情形,其制度传承既有断裂也有绵延,其制度建设积极主动而艰难痛苦,其制度导向充满了工具主义和理想主义,移植而来的教育制度并未落地生根,时有反复,教育理想与现实之间,存在一条巨大的鸿沟。The period of the Republic of China is the beginning of the modem university system in China. The development of universities in the Republic of China experienced many institutional changes, from the initial reflection at the end of the Qing Dynasty to the beginning of the University system,from the emphasis on professor’s participation in administration to professor’s academic autonomy. In accordance with both the rule of law and morality, persons with breadth of vision advocated to minimize government interference in education and support the professors and students’ autonomy. The effort of these far-sighted personage produced a conducive atmosphere for scholars and students. Reviewing the university ecology in the Republic of China, we can find that the institutional development hard been through a way full of difficulties and reverses, but the institutional transplantation seems to be idealistic and failed to really take root in Chinese society. There is a dichotomy between ideals and reality.
