摘　　要：自由间接话语是一种修辞话语——一种形式、内容、效果共振的文学修辞话语。在文学语篇叙事中,它是文学性的一个重要来源,认识它,不仅要在句法层面,更要在语境层面进行考察,才能发现其在修辞认知范畴的诗学功能,揭示其在文学语篇中的诗学价值。对英语自由间接话语的修辞认知还能给修辞话语翻译实践和理论研究带来多方面的启示,归结到翻译策略上,就是在译文中重构原文自由间接话语在修辞层面上的诗学张力,进而实现其诗学价值。Free Indirect Discourse（ FID） is a rhetorical literary discourse,involving its form,content and effect into interactions. As an important source of literariness in narrative fiction,FID has to be observed not only for its syntactical,but more importantly,for contextual features,so as to understand its poetic function and value in regard to cognitive rhetoric. Besides,the cognitive construal of English FID will further provide a rhetorical explanations for its effective translation,which all come down to the point of recreating its poetic tension and hence reconstructing its poetic value in the target text.
