摘　　要：《长日留痕》是诺贝尔文学奖得主石黑一雄的代表作。作品独特的叙事方式引起了国内外众多学者的关注。在这部小说中,主题词"bantering"出现的频率很高,与情节发展以及人物的塑造都有很大关系。因此,本文结合叙事学与文体学里的相关论述,对"bantering"一词在小说中的作用进行分析,研究其在译文中的处理方法,认为应保留其反复性,在译文中使用同一个词。The Remains of the Day is a representative work of Kazuo Ishiguro, the Nobel Prize-winning English novelist. This novel has attracted the attention of many scholars due to its unique way of narration, special characters and profound themes. In this novel, the key word bantering appears in a high frequency, which is closely related to the plot development and characterization of the work. Therefore, the translation of this word should be cautious to convey a similar effect of the original work. It is analyzed the function of bantering in this novel, and discussed the method of its translation under the guidelines of narratology and stylistics and with the examples of the Map Cuoan translation of the novel. It is believed that the repetition of the original work should be maintained and the translator is better to use a single word to translate bantering during translation. On the basis of it, an appropriate choice of translation will be put forward considering the quality of the word itself, including its appearing time, feelings, frequency of use and formality.
