摘　　要：中国地理学的发展经历了漫长而辉煌的古代、短暂而平淡的近代和复兴昌盛的现代 3个阶段。为了迎接中国地理学进入 2 1世纪发展的新阶段 ,作者认为必须强调做好以下几个方面的工作 :(1)改革地理教育 ;(2 )提高资源与环境的研究水平 ;(3)认真为农业服务 ;(4 )重视区域研究 ;(5 )加强理论研究。The development of China's geography has involved the three stages: a long but brilliant ancient times, a short and dull modern times, a revive and prosperous contemporary age. In order to ring in the arrivals of the new development stage of China's geography in the 21st century, the author thinks that emphasis should be placed on the improvements of the following fields of work: (1)to reform the system of geography education. (2)to improve the quality of researches on resources and environment. (3)to serve the agriculture conscientiously. (4)to devote much attention to the regional study. (5)to strengthen the study of fundamental theory of geography.
