摘　　要：西方传教士在近代中国的活动一直是学术界研究的热点问题,其中涉及近代中国教育、近代中国印刷出版和近代中国西医学发展等多个方面。文章选择西方传教士在近代中国从事西学科技翻译活动的一个方面,重点考察英、美来华传教士进行的西学科技书籍翻译,分析西方传教士在华进行的西学科技翻译,客观上推动了近代中国的翻译和翻译人才的培养,对中国近代科学体系建立和发展,中国近代化探索起到了重要作用。After The Opium War, a large number of western missionaries came to China. Not only did they carry out missionary activities, some missionaries also engaged in a lot of science and technology translation activities. These missionaries taught in the language schools that founded by the late Qing dynasty government, or the schools founded by the church.They created a complete translation training system, and translated a lot of European and American modern science books. These activites not only promoted the spread of western natural science knowledge in China and the development of modern Chinese science and technology, but also cultivated a large number of intellectual elites and translation talents for modern China,which played an important role in the process of Chinese modernization.
