从林译小说序跋看林纾的文化自觉

摘　　要：研究林译小说序跋,可以发现林纾对外来文化的理解,对自己民族文化传统的反思与坚守,以及在此基础上形成的文化自觉,具体表现在世界背景下的民族情结、融汇中外的诗学视野、具有普世情怀的伦理思考等三个方面。进一步挖掘发现,林纾文化自觉的主要动力在于他的救国新民意识,以及他的包容与务实精神。A close study of Lin Shu＇ s prefaces and postscripts to his translations of foreign fictions reveals his understanding of foreign cultures, his reflection and perseverance on Chinese cultural traditions. The comparison and contrast of Chinese and foreign culture as made clear by Lin Shu shows his culture awareness that best exemplified in his national mentality, poetic vision, and ethical thoughts in the universal context. Further exploration finds that Lin Shu＇ s culture awareness comes from his national mentality, tolerance, and practical concern.
