摘 要:"Diaspora"是比较文学学科、尤其是后殖民文学视域内广受关注的一个词,国内学界对它的译介集中为"流散"和"离散"两种,一直未得到统一。本文认为,"离散"与"流散"中文释义的差异不应简化为一个两者皆可的翻译问题,其背后是两个完全不同的作家群体及创作活动,彼此间有着深层次的鸿沟,不应混淆。文章通过对北美华人\华裔离散与流散作家们对中国的讲述问题的分析,从认知、讲述方式到中国形象及其隐喻的不同三个层面,指出了"离散"与"流散"这两个作家群体的区别。‘Disaspora’is a term that gains much currency in comparative literary fields,particularly postcolonial literary fields,which,in the scholarly world in China,is often rendered as either‘liusan’(scattering)or‘lisan’(dispersing),never quite agreeing with the one or the other.The author of this article is of the opinion that the difference between the meanings in Chinese of‘lisan’and‘liusan’cannot be simplified as a translatable issue or two as there are two completely different groups of writers and writing activities,with deep gaps between them that should not be confused.This article provides an analysis of the descriptions of China by‘lisan’and‘liusan’writers of either huaren or huayi origins in North America in pointing out the differences between the two groups o‘f lisan’and‘liusan’writers,based on three different levels of cognition,ways of writing and images of China and their metaphors.
