摘　　要：《美国耶鲁大学图书馆藏卫三畏未刊往来书信集》(Unpublished Letters from and to Samuel Wells Williams in Yale University Library,U.S.A)收录了迄今为止美国著名汉学家卫三畏(Samuel Wells Williams,1812—1884年)最全面的书信原始档案,为研究美国汉学史、中国近代史及中美关系史、日本开国史及日美关系史三方面的研究学者提供了珍贵的原始资料,但其并未得到国内学者的充分关注、重视和利用。Unpublished Letters from and to Samuel Wells Williams in Yale University Library U.S.A collected the most comprehensive original letters of the American famous Sinologist Samuel Wells Williams(1812-1812).They provide precious and original material for scholars on the American Sinology,the modern Chinese history and the history of the Sino-Us relations,the Japan’s early history and the history of America-Japan relations.But the book has not been paid attention to or highly valued or fully used by Chinese scholars.
