摘 要:从转喻视角分析小说《献给艾米莉的玫瑰》的叙事策略,发现小说的标题以部分指代整体,设立语篇空白,使语篇含义的多重解读成为可能,同时标题作为认知参照点,为理解小说主旨起到了指向作用。旁观者叙述视角使叙述者以部分代整体、或结果代原因的方式转喻表达艾米莉的生活状况、思想情感和生前的行为。叙事结构方面,小说用看得见的结果转喻看不见的原因,促使读者对非线性叙事结构进行重组,构建了故事结构的完整性、逻辑性和连贯性。The narrative strategies of A Rose for Emily are studied from the perspective of Metonymy.It is found that using the part to stand for the whole,the title creates discourse gaps which make it possible for multiple interpretations of the novel.Meanwhile,it serves as a cognitive reference point that guides the understanding of the theme of the novel.The onlooker point of view allows the narrator to signify Emily’s life,emotions or behaviors before her death via metonymic manifestations of part for whole or effect for cause.As for narrative structure,the novel employs the visible effect to represent the invisible cause,which makes the readers to reorganize the nonlinear narrative structure,and construct the integrity,logic and coherence of the story structure.
