ELF背景下英语报刊阅读教学中的“中国英语”变体教学

摘　　要：在英语作为国际通用语的时代背景下,不同母语的英语使用者之间的交流远超过母语为英语者。他们有不同的文化背景,所用的英语往往带有所属地区的特点。因此我们把ELF成为n ELF,其中某一特定地区英语称为x ELF,比如中国英语变体,简称中国英语。借此,以"中国英语"变体这一教研课题为例,介绍和展示英语报刊阅读教学过程中中国英语意识以及中国英语身份认同的培养。实践证明,以英语报刊中中国新闻作为训练学生中国英语意识和中国英语身份认同的素材是一个行之有效的教学模式。English,a lingua franca,has been used by more non-native speakers than native speakers.Speakers with diversified cultural and social backgrounds lead to different English varieties with regional characteristics.Therefore,a seemingly unified ELF has been substituted by nELF,even xELF(a particular English variety),among which a variety in China is thus named China English.Taking China English as an example,the present paper introduces and illustrates the cultivation of the awareness and identity recognition of China English in the teaching of English newspapers reading.Teaching practice shows that it is an effective approach to choosing discourse in relevance to China in English newspapers as materials to arouse students'China English consciousness and cultivate China English identity.
