摘　　要：英国曼彻斯特大学翻译与跨文化研究中心在人才培养、译学研究、翻译项目管理及团队建设等方面经验丰富、成就卓著。蒙娜﹒贝克尔(Mona Baker)教授在接受作者访谈中梳理了翻译中心发展至今的历史进程,介绍了自已在翻译研究方面的心得、体会和真知灼见,并对当下中心的翻译研究任务做了介绍,特别提出中国青年学者应勇于担当、坚持不懈地开展翻译研究和翻译实践。Established in 1995, the Center for Translation and Intercultural Studies(CTIS) at the University of Manchester has achieved a great deal in nurturing professionals, translational investigations, project management and team building. As the former director of CTIS, Professor Mona Baker elaborates on the progress CTIS has made from its establishment up to now in the interview. She also shares her thoughts, opinions and experiences based on her years’ of translation studies and supervision for master’s and doctor’s degree programs. Furthermore, she introduces the present endeavors of CTIS while advising Chinese scholars, young scholars and students in particular, to "be bold, be positive, be perseverant, and publish more in English".
