摘　　要：美国传教士丁韪良翻译的《万国公法》在我国法律界广为人知,围绕该译本已经有一些研究成果,但这些研究仍然有待补充完善。因此,可立足于该译本的翻译始末、译者的政治意图和译者的善意,并运用译述、改译省略相结合、增译等三种典型而可行的翻译方法,通过翻译过程与翻译文本所呈现的社会历史意义等进行相应的阐述和论证,以此为相似翻译提供参照并丰富我国法律词汇的研究。The Law of Nations translated by American missionary William Alexander Parsons Martin in the early 1860s is well known in the legal circle of our country. Some research results around the translationhave been achieved,but still need to be supplemented and improved. Therefore,based on the translation,the political intention of the translator and the translator s goodwill,this paper explores and demonstrates three typical and feasible translation methods including free translation,combination of revision and ellipsis,and additive translation,as well as the social and historical significance presented in process of translation and the translated texts,aiming at providing reference for similar translation and enriching legal vocabulary in China.
