理工科高校学生英语文化素养缺失的原因

摘　　要：理工科高校学生英语文化素养缺失现象严重,跨文化教育障碍重重。研究发现,造成学生英语文化素养缺失的原因是多方面的,主要包括观念因素、动机因素和环境因素。学校要加强对学生英语文化教育的重视,在环境创建上加大投入,教师要在课型、授课内容、授课方式和考试内容上摸索调整,使学生在日益国际化的今天更从容地迎接各种挑战。It is obvious that science and engineering students tend to have poor literacy in English culture and this has brought difficulty to intercultural education.Research findings indicate that causes of this problem are multifaceted.Student s belief,student s motivation and environment all play a role.More importance should be attached to the improvement of students literacy in English culture and more efforts should be put in the cultural environment building.Moreover,teachers should ponder on and probe for more reasonable course types,teaching contents,teaching methods and test contents to make students more equipped to face various challenges in this world of globalization in future.
