摘　　要：明庵荣西被尊为日本临济宗的祖师,他一生为弘扬禅法做出了巨大的贡献。荣西既传承了中国南宗禅的禅理教义,又将中国的禅宗思想与日本固有文化相结合,并适应时代地嬗变,最后演化成具有日本化特征的日本临济宗。Eisai is the ancestor of Japanese Rinzai Zen.He has made great contributions to the promotion of Zen Buddhism all his life.Eisai wrote a lot of books in his life.And the book Developing Zen and Protecting Country is the most important one.In this book Eisai inherited the Zen doctrine of Chinese Southern Zen,and also Combined Chinese Zen Thought with Japanese inherent culture.Eisai’s Zen thought had evolved into Japanese Rinzai Zen with Japanese characteristics.
