摘　　要：介绍美国托福ITP考试。首先阐述考试的主要特点,然后从现代语言测试学视角,分析其考试体系的优势和局限性。基于此,讨论托福ITP考试对我国英语测评的启示,旨在为我国英语考试的设计、施测及分数报告提供参考依据。This article introduces the American TOEFL ITP Test(full name: TOEFL-Institutional Testing Program). First, it illustrates the major facets of the test and then analyses the strengths and limitations of the test from the perspective of modern language assessment. On the basis of that, the paper discusses its implications for China’s English language testing with an aim to provide a reference for the design, administration and score reporting of the test series. Finally, it proposes the aspects of future improvement in the ITP test for the better.
