中国传统文人形象在英语世界的建构与价值观念传播——以《儒林外史》的传播为例

摘　　要：文人是中国传统社会的重要组成部分,在文化发展和社会进步中发挥了重要作用,在很大程度上扮演了知识传承者和道德守卫者的角色。中国文学中有大量由文人创作、刻画文人形象、表现文人生存状态和人生理想的"文人主题"作品。通过对《儒林外史》在英语世界的传播与中国传统文人形象在英语世界的建构进行考察可以发现,中国文人形象的建构是中国形象建构的重要组成部分和有力抓手,对传播中国传统和主流价值观念具有示范意义。The Chinese literati,as part of the society that carries on knowledge and supervises social morality,has always played a significant part in the development of China.There have been numerous literary works created by the literati that are about its life and ideals.This paper surveys the translation of Rulin Waishi and studies on it,and explores the construction of image of the Chinese traditional literati in the world of English.As is found,it is very practical to construct the Chinese image through construction of the image of the Chinese literati,which could also promote the spread of traditional Chinese values.
