Analysis of Chinese Senior English Majors′ Usage of Causal Discourse Markers in Spoken English

摘  要:基于“中国学生英语口笔语语料库”和“美国当代英语语料库”,分析中国英语专业高年级学生在口语中运用因果类话语标记语时与美语本族语者相比存在的特点。研究结果显示,中国英语专业高年级学生在口语中使用因果类话语标记语时与美语本族语者相比总体上具有一定的相似性,但仍存在一定差异,如使用类型单一,过多或过少使用某些因果类话语标记语,以及句法分布差异等。Based on SWECCL and COCA,it analyzed Chinese senior English majors′using characters of causal discourse markers in this paper and compared with that of American native speakers in spoken English.It found that Chinese senior English majors′usage of causal discourse markers in spoken English is generally similar to that of American native speakers.However,there are still some differences.For example,the types of causal discourse markers used by Chinese senior English majors are fewer than that of American native speakers.Besides,Chinese senior English majors tend to overuse or underuse certain causal discourse markers.And there are also some differences in syntactical distributions between Chinese senior English majors and American native speakers.
