“无我之境”英译之辨

摘　　要：“无我之境”是王国维《人间词话》的核心词论术语,其英译译者多用直译法,直译虽可最大限度保留原术语的思想和语言特色,但译者却以西方哲学体系或文论中的英文词汇直接替换原词论术语词汇,割裂了其内在元素间的联系或西方化其词论思想,未充分表达其原有内涵和文化底蕴。现欲以阴阳之道为方法论解析“无我之境”译文,并通过创新英语词汇推出新英译,可更好地表达其内涵,并实现阴阳之合,也更有利于词论文化的传播。As a core Ci poetic critical term in Wang Guiwei’s Ci Poetry Remarks in Human World(ren-jian ci-hua),Man’s will-dissolving art-land’s English translating is of great important.Translators are prone to translate it in literal method,which is good enough to render its essential thoughts as well as to keep its original language features as much as possible.However,it is a pity for the translators to replace some key words in the term with words in western philosophy and literary theory.Therefore,it is hard to express the essential thoughts embodied in the term,with the interconnection among the different ideas being cut off as well as the term on the whole being westernized.In this paper,as a general methodology,the way of yin and yang is firstly applied to analysis the problems in the term’s different existing English translation versions;and then is used to guide the term’s translation process.Finally,a new translation of the term is created by innovating new English words,trying to express its connotative thoughts and also bring Chinese Ci poetry culture to English readers.
