摘　　要：根据高校专业英语教学中存在的一系列问题,地球物理专业英语教学中将"以教师为中心"的讲授式教学模式与"以学生为中心"的教学模式相结合,取长补短,既激发学生学习兴趣,又系统运用英语讲解专业基本理论及概念,从而使同学们在专业英语听、说、读、写等方面能力得到提高,成为他们走出国门、了解国外科技进展、开展国际合作的重要工具。Based on a series of problems existing in the teaching for specialized English of geophysics in colleges and universities,the teaching model of "teacher centered" is combined with "student centered" in the specialized English teaching of geophysics.It is not only mobilizing students’ interest in learning,but also systematically explaining the basic theories and concepts of geophysics in English.Thus the abilities of students in listening,speaking,reading and writing in specialized English are overall improved,and specialized English become their important tool for going abroad,learning about scientific and technological progresses abroad,and carrying out international cooperation.
