摘　　要：作为中国古代白话小说在西方世界的早期重要译作之一,《平山冷燕》法译本展现了法国汉学家儒莲作为译者的复杂角色。《平山冷燕》既为儒莲提供了教授汉语语言文学的途径,又成为了其传播和塑造东方形象的一个平台。本文从译本出发,结合译者的翻译理论及其翻译实践,探讨文本所体现的译者的多重身份。The French version of Chinese novel Les Deux jeunes filles lettrées, an important work in the early history of the translation of Chinese classic literature in the Western world, incarnates the multi-identity of the translator Stanislas Julien. The text provides Julien with not only a means of teaching Chinese language to French readers, but also a platform to present and even shape the image of China. Through an analysis of Julien’s translated text and his translation theory and practice, this article attempts to explore the complex roles played by the translator.
