摘 要:英语习语作为整体提取和创造性使用的语言单位一直以来是中国学习者理解和表征的重点和难点。概念隐喻理论为习语的阐释提供了重要的理论和方法上的支撑,但它在英语习语词典尤其是英汉双解习语词典的释义中目前还研究得不多。本文以隐喻习语的意义理据为切入点,选取包含名词"fire(火)"的隐喻习语为研究对象,并结合语料库和词典调查的方法,探讨隐喻习语在英汉双解习语词典中的释义模式。总的释义结构要分层分类表述,首先将中心词"fire(火)"的体验义在微观结构中呈现,其次以中心词为准归纳喻义群将相互关联的习语按字母顺序编排,最后在语言层面上进行喻义释义,凸显汉语释文的国别特征。隐喻习语词条的释义以实现隐喻系统中的概念激活和语义关联的英汉双解习语词典的文本环境为依归。English idiom,a linguistic unit of construction and for creative usage,has always been research focus and difficulty for the learners to interpret and express. Conceptual metaphor theory offers significant interpretation for English idiom at both a theoretical and an application level. However,it is still less employed in the dictionaries of English idioms,English-Chinese dictionaries of idioms in particular,on idiom definition. Therefore,this article focuses on metaphorical idiom to explore its semantic motivation,taking metaphorical idioms including nominal "fire/Huo " as an example by means of corpus and lexicographical survey,the definition pattern in English-Chinese dictionary of idioms is easy to come out. The research result shows that it is beneficial to classify hierarchical structure to definite in general. Firstly the experiential meaning of headword "fire/Huo" is represented in microstructure and then metaphorical senses cluster arranges the idioms related to each other by alphabet order. Last but not least,metaphorical definition in expression highlights national characteristics by Chinese version. The definition of metaphorical idioms in entry is supposed to realize textual environment of English-Chinese dictionary of idioms from the perspective of metaphorical system to motivate concept and connect meanings.
