意象图式观在英语空间介词教学中的应用

摘　　要：意象图式产生于人与世界的互动,其图式表征赋予抽象活动以简洁而直观的具体结构。本文将意象图式观应用于实验组的英语空间介词教学,在真实教学实践活动中通过访谈、小组讨论、观察笔记和测试,综合考量大学英语教学中基于意象图式观的空间介词教学的可行性和实施途径。研究表明:1)相较于传统语法教学模式,将意象图式观应用于空间介词教学与学习者的期待具有高度一致性;2)用动态图像呈现空间关系的意象图式使学习者更为积极地参与到教学中,帮助学习者习得空间介词;3)该教学模式有助于提高学习者的语法学习效果,为空间介词教学的设计和实施提供了可借鉴的路径。Image schemas arise from man’s interaction with the world,and their graphical representations put the abstract experience into concrete structures which are both concise and intuitive.This study is an application of image schema view in the authentic teaching practice of English spatial prepositions.Interviews,group discussions,observation notes and tests are used to measure its feasibility and method of implementation in college English teaching.The results of the study indicate that:1)compared with the traditional model of grammar teaching,the students’anticipated approach of English spatial preposition teaching is in high accordance with the image schema-based approach;2)a presentation of the image schemas by means of dynamic images can intrigue learners’enthusiasm,and facilitate the acquisition of spatial prepositions;and 3)this model can prompt the efficiency of acquisition,thus providing an accessible approach to the design and practice of English spatial preposition teaching.
