基于贾平凹《高兴》的方言功能与英译研究

摘　　要：为了考查文学作品中方言英译与传播的有效途径,以贾平凹《高兴》中的陕西方言词为研究对象,借助《商县方言志》等相关工具书与艾克西拉对文化专有项的11种翻译方法,将原文中的陕西方言划分为人名与称呼语、詈骂语、习语和地方特有表达用语4类方言。通过文本考查发现,译者韩斌(Nicky Harman)在其译本Happy Dreams中倾向保留方言的指示意义,译文语言趋向标准化,译文尽可能地再现了原文的口语化特征,暗示了人物语言的非标准化,较为成功地再现了原作的语言风格。但是译文中使用的口语词汇并无明确标示性的社会方言,一定程度上削弱了小说中浓郁的地域方言特色。To study the effective ways to the translation of dialects in literary works,it takes Shaanxi dialect words in Gao Xing as the research object,with reference to Shangxian Dialect Records and 11 translation methods to culture-specific items proposed by Aixeld for reference.The dialects in Happy Dreams are divided into four types,which are personal names and address forms,swearwords,idioms and region-specific expressions.The textual analyses show that the translator Nicky Harman tends to preserve the denotative meaning of the dialects which contributes to the standardization of the dialects in the target text.The translation reproduces the colloquial features of the original text,suggesting the non-standardization of the characters’language,and successfully reproduces the linguistic style of the original text.Nevertheless,no clearly marked social dialect can be found in the colloquial words used in the translation,which weakens the rich local features of dialects in the novel.
