摘　　要：阿什比以19世纪德国大学传统对英美大学的影响为例,论述教育的遗传环境论,展现了他对高等教育的深刻理解,这一理论为大学特色化发展提供了依据,中国现代大学的发展史正体现了他的这一理论。Taking the influence of the tradition of German universities on British and American universities in the 19th century as an example,Ashby discussed the genetic environment theory of education and showed his profound understanding of higher education.This theory provides a basis for the characteristic develop ment of universities,and the history of the development of contemporary Chinese universities is a reflection of his theory.
