摘　　要：本文以美国在线学习质量保证机构Quality Matters推出的2020年《在线教育全景报告(第4版)》(CHLOE 4)为基础,分析了美国在线教育的发展现状和趋势,反思其发展的社会、教育背景和原因。《在线教育全景报告(第4版)》包括在线学习指南、支持服务可获得性、在线教师准备、在线课程与项目注册人数变化趋势、在线课程的经费与成本、在线教与学和美国在线教育未来发展等主题。报告内容对我国在线教育发展具有启发意义。Based on the Changing Landscape of Online Education Report 4(CHLOE 4)presented by Quality Matters,this article discusses the status and trends of online education,as well as its background and rationale behind the scenes in the perspectives of society and education.CHLOE 4 report covers the following topics:online learning orientation,online accessibility,preparing faculty for online instruction,online course,program and enrollment trends,online pricing and revenue,teaching and learning,future goals for online learning in the U.S..This article provides insights into the development of online education in China.
