摘　　要：约翰·S·布鲁贝克的《高等教育哲学》对中国高等教育学学科建设及高等教育哲学的发展具有非常重要的启示意义。选取“中道”作为探究的基点,其协调的各种冲突主要体现为:高等教育的合法性基础(认识论与政治论之间)、高等教育的对象(精英教育与大众教育之间)、高等教育的内容(普通教育与专业教育之间)、高等教育机构的边界(学术自治与学术自由之间)。《高等教育哲学》作为具有德性的哲学思考,成就了这一作品深厚持久的学术影响力,奠定了该文本中国境遇的学术之基,也启示高等教育实践中应放弃从可行性方面选择“各执一端”,在中道的思想指导下做出具有德性的教育决策,朝着理想的教育努力。Brubeck's“Higher Education Philosophy”is of great significance to the discipline construction of higher education and the development of philosophy of higher education in China.Select the middle way as to explore the basis,the coordination of various conflicts mainly embodied in the following:the legitimacy of the higher education foundation(between epistemology and political theory),the object of higher education(between elite education and mass education),the content of the higher education(between general education and professional education),the boundary of the institutions of higher education(between academic autonomy and academic freedom).“Higher Education Philosophy”as a philosophical thinking with virtue,accomplished the work the academic influence of the deep lasting,laid the foundation of the situation of academic text in China,also revealed in the practice of higher education should give up choose to"pull"from the aspects of feasibility,under the guidance of the middle way has virtue education decision making,toward the ideal education efforts.
